The Nurse Supervisor will be responsible for the administration of nursing services as assigned under the direction of the Nurse Manager or Director of Nursing. This includes directing, planning, and coordinating the service activities and staffing performance of professional nursing and agency nursing personnel to ensure quality patient care.
Responsibilities- Provide direct and indirect skilled nursing care to patients
- Implement and manage physician orders related to nursing
- Select, train, develop, and motivate a highly skilled professional and allied staff
- Ensure departmental staff complete orientation, maintain clinical competence, perform supervisory visits, participate in continuing education, receive counseling, and are evaluated in a timely manner
- Ensure patient verification, assessment, teaching, and scheduling of nursing services occur in a timely and appropriate manner
- Ensure all patient‑related documentation is accurately completed, submitted, and filed according to regulatory requirements and billing processes
- Participate in planning, decision‑making, and implementation of service center activities that affect clinical nursing services and team performance
- Secure and maintain all applicable professional certifications, accreditations, and employment requirements for nursing staff and the department
- Coordinate patient care with nurse scheduler and/or clinical coordinator
- Ensure nursing documentation is accounted for and billed timely
- Promote the efficiency and productivity of the nursing department in conjunction with the nurse manager
- Work closely with the Nurse Manager and Operations Manager to assess, plan, develop, implement, and evaluate policies, procedures, programs, and systems
- Maintain professional growth and clinical competence
- Adhere to all policies, procedures, and standards of conduct
- Report any known or suspected policy or regulatory violations to appropriate management
- Full‑time, 40 hours per week, Monday‑Friday 8:30 am‑5 pm (flexibility required)
- Available for on‑call rotation
- Must be knowledgeable and have used IV access devices: IV lines, accessing ports, and infusion medication administration
- Must be able to drive up to 1.5 hours one‑way to see patients as needed (mileage reimbursement provided)
- Must hold an RN license in the state of Colorado
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a BSN; MSN preferred
- Current RN licensure in good standing
- Advanced certification in specialty areas (e.g., CRNI, ONS, IgRN) preferred but not required
- Valid state‑issued driver’s license with no significant restrictions
- Must participate in on‑call rotation, nights and weekends, providing as‑needed support outside regular business hours
- Responsible for administrative oversight, workflow monitoring, policy compliance, and resource management
- Available to respond promptly to emergencies, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Minimum 2 years nursing practice in a related specialty (home infusion, specialty infusion, home health, oncology, nutrition support, IV therapy, or critical care)
- Minimum 2 years pediatric nursing experience ideal
- Clinical expertise in IV therapies, monitoring, skill, and knowledge of all types of IV lines
- Minimum 1 year management experience, proven ability to train and educate staff on new protocols and procedures
- Ability to work with employees at all levels in a fast‑paced clinical environment and manage multiple complex projects
- Knowledge of vascular access devices and infusion therapies
- Proficiency with MS Office
