The Assistant Director of Nursing is a full-time, on-site role based in Centennial, CO, supporting the Director of Nursing in overseeing clinical operations and ensuring high-quality resident care. This role is responsible for supervising nursing staff, coordinating staffing schedules, and monitoring clinical practices for compliance with state and federal regulations. Daily responsibilities include conducting resident assessments, assisting with care plans, mentoring and coaching team members, and participating in quality improvement initiatives.
The Assistant Director of Nursing collaborates with interdisciplinary teams, communicates with residents and their families, and promotes a safe, respectful, and supportive environment aligned with the organization’s mission and values.
- Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Colorado and graduation from an accredited nursing program.
- Experience in senior living, long-term care, or a similar healthcare setting, with demonstrated knowledge of geriatric nursing and person-centered care.
- Skills in nursing leadership, staff supervision, and team collaboration, including the ability to coach, mentor, and empower nursing personnel.
- Competence in care planning, resident assessment, and clinical documentation, with strong attention to detail and regulatory compliance.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust with residents, families, and colleagues and handle sensitive situations professionally.
- Organizational and time-management skills to oversee multiple priorities, staffing needs, and quality initiatives in a dynamic environment.
- Knowledge of infection control practices, safety standards, and applicable state and federal regulations in senior care settings.
- Basic computer proficiency, including use of electronic health records and standard office software.
- Ability to meet the physical and mental demands of the role, including periods of standing, walking, and assisting residents as needed.
- Prior supervisory or charge nurse experience and certifications in gerontology or leadership are beneficial.
