RN Forensic Nurse Examiner​/SAFE Instructor

UCHealth seeks a Registered Nurse Forensic Nurse Examiner and SAFE Instructor to provide trauma-informed care to patients impacted by violence and abuse. In this role, you will perform forensic exams, collect and preserve evidence, document findings for medical and legal use, and collaborate with law enforcement and advocacy partners. You will also serve as a SAFE Instructor, training and mentoring clinical staff on forensic protocols and patient-centered care.

• Provide forensic nursing exams and evidence collection for patients affected by violence or abuse
• Deliver trauma-informed, patient-centered care and crisis intervention
• Document findings accurately for medical, legal, and reporting purposes
• Serve as a SAFE Instructor, training and mentoring clinical staff in forensic and SAFE protocols
• Collaborate with law enforcement, advocacy agencies, and multidisciplinary teams
• Maintain chain of custody and comply with legal and regulatory standards
• Participate in on-call coverage and respond to urgent consults
• Engage in continuing education and support quality improvement initiatives
