Job Description

• Bag groceries at checkout for customers, aiming for a minimum of five items per bag while ensuring items are not damaged.
• Follow best practices for bagging items in various types of bags (reusable, plastic, paper).
• Assist customers in removing merchandise from the bottom of the bascart and offer help with loading bags into their cars.
• Perform basic shelf conditioning and return merchandise to store shelves.
• Gather bascarts and return them to designated areas.
• Clean spills, collect and pick up trash inside the store and parking lot, and maintain all interior and exterior store areas.
• Handle and assemble seasonal merchandise.
• Understand the store's layout, locate products, and conduct price checks for cashiers.
• Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identifying unsafe conditions, accidents, or issues to notify store management.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying the appropriate department or store manager of items needing repair.
• Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important, and appreciated by answering product questions.
• Adhere to all local, state and federal laws, and company guidelines.
• Work cooperatively in a high‑paced and sometimes stressful environment.
• Manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational and cooperative manner.
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve customer and business issues.
