Pay: $16.65 Hr.

This position would primarily work at our County Line store but may be asked to work at our Fox Ridge Donation Center.

Donation hours at our Retail Centers are Monday through Saturday 8 to 8:30 and Sunday 9 to 7.

Job Summary

The Associate I, Donation Services is typically the first point of contact for customers dropping off items at retail centers and/or stand‑alone donation centers (ADC). The Donation Services Associates provide excellent and friendly customer service by greeting customers promptly and assisting as needed, which may include lifting or unloading donations from a customer’s vehicle or other area. Associates are expected to handle goods with care, showing respect for items donated.

Functions
  • Provides excellent customer service, greeting customers promptly and answering product questions as needed.
  • Assists every customer by unloading donations from vehicles or other areas.
  • Ensures donated items are handled with care and sorted into appropriate bins or production areas.
  • Inspects all donations within assigned areas and makes decisions on quality to sort appropriately for the sales floor or to be shipped to other locations.
  • Maintains a safe, organized, and clean environment for both customers and fellow employees within the donation entrance and parking lot areas.
  • Maintains remote donation centers, sheds, and/or trailers if applicable, following appropriate opening and closing procedures when working at a remote site.
  • Ensures supplies are kept well stocked at remote sites as necessary.
  • Tracks and reports on donation levels daily to prevent trailers from becoming over stock when working in remote donation center locations.
  • Communicates timely when donation warehouses and/or trailers are becoming full and a truck is needed.
  • Follows all retail center/donation center policies and procedures.
  • Assists drivers in loading and unloading donations onto the truck when necessary.
  • Follows all safety processes and procedures to help provide a safe working environment for employees and customers.
  • Cross‑trains in other departments or areas; acts as a back‑up for other areas as required.
  • May be required to report to the store ADC or stand‑alone center when necessary.
  • Job duties may extend beyond the tasks listed and may include additional responsibilities as required.

Education

A High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Experience

One (1) year of retail experience is preferred.

Other
  • Must be able to make decisions by following Goodwill standards and guidelines.
  • Must have basic computer skills to log into a computer system to order supplies and to send and receive email.
  • Must be able to work in various weather conditions with varying temperatures.
  • Must be able to use safety equipment to assist with lifting heavy objects such as a dolly or pallet jack.
