Overview

Larimer County Community Justice Alternatives is looking for a skilled Community Justice Case Specialist to join our dynamic team of professionals. Successful candidates will work with Larimer County Community Justice Alternatives in the Community Corrections Department. This posting is to create an eligibility list for future vacancies within LCCC in the following units:
Residential, Non-Residential, STIRT and the IRT Treatment programs.

Residential Case Managers work with clients while they are in house. They play a supporting role in getting their clients employed, enrolled in treatment, and remain program compliant. Non-Residential Case Managers support clients who have progressed to Levels 5–8 and are living independently in the community; these clients are typically more stable and need support as they adjust to greater independence.

IRT (Intensive Residential Treatment) Case Managers work with clients in our 90-day inpatient program. IRT clients do not have community access. These Case Managers provide more hands-on support, lead in-house groups, assist with basic needs, and help clients prepare for their transition back into the community. Our STIRT (Strategic Individualized Remediation Treatment Program) Case Managers work with clients in our 21-day inpatient treatment program and also provide similar support as the IRT Case Managers.

What you'll be doing:

Job duties will differ depending on each work unit.

• Supervising clients directly within your assigned work unit.
• Referring clients to treatment providers as required by the Department of Corrections, Probation, or Evaluations; maintaining monthly contact and obtaining reports on client progress and stability.
• Conducting intakes with new clients, including completing specialized assessments and reviewing budgeting, employment, and treatment requirements.
• Preparing affidavits and court documentation related to sentence discharge, negative or early termination, and other required filings.
• Testifying in court proceedings, Parole Board hearings, and administrative review hearings; filing felony cases with the District Attorney’s Office when necessary.
• Managing client behavior by writing incident reports and presenting cases in Administrative Review, as needed.
• Monitoring client medication compliance to ensure prescriptions are taken and discontinued appropriately, and communicating with providers when necessary.

• Experience providing coaching and crisis intervention with a client-centered, problem-solving approach.
• Ability to build rapport and support clients in developing skills and motivation for lasting behavior change.
• Familiarity with evidence-based practices, including scoring assessments and developing individualized case plans.
• Skill in applying behavioral interventions to address criminogenic needs and enhance intrinsic motivation.
• Experience supervising or monitoring clients in residential or non-residential community-based criminal justice programs.
• Ability to work within the parameters of Divisional Criminal Justice Standards and program requirements.
• Proven ability to coordinate with courts, probation, Department of Corrections, Federal Probation, and law enforcement regarding client compliance.
• Strong collaboration skills with community agencies, employers, and service providers to support client needs such as employment, transportation, and community service.
• Experience facilitating psycho educational groups.
• Willingness and ability to transport individual clients or groups to appointments, activities, and assigned programming.
