DescriptionBoulder County Community Services Department is seeking to hire a Bilingual BEST Officer. The Juvenile Supervision Officer works directly with high-risk/need juvenile offenders and their families in the community that would otherwise be detained, monitors individuals through community face-to-face contact, alcohol and drug testing, and electronic home monitoring, reports to courts and partnering agencies regarding juvenile’s progress and provides mentorship for clients.
WorkSchedule
This is a full-time, benefited position that will work Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm with some weekends and evenings required. This position will work out of 1777 6th St., Boulder, Boulder, Colorado. Under Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) guidelines, this position is exempt.
Residency RequirementBoulder County requires its employees to reside in the state of Colorado as of the first day of work.
Hiring Salary Range$67,068.00 - $81,834.00 Annually

Examples of Duties- Assess juveniles for their appropriateness for the B.E.S.T. program
- Develop case plans for each juvenile which address community safety, youth’s need and guardian’s needs as part of recommendation to the courts
- Make appropriate referrals for clients/families on caseload for interventions or treatment to different partnering agencies
- Monitor individuals through community face-to-face contact, alcohol and drug testing, and electronic home monitoring based on case plan
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with DA, Public Defender, private attorneys, Social Services, IMPACT, Mental Health, law enforcement, other counties’ CYDC personnel, CJS, courts, clerks, judges and magistrates, as well as members of the public
- Attend trainings through Boulder County, CJS and conferences to keep current on Juvenile Justice trends
- Report to courts and partnering agencies regarding juvenile’s progress
- Appear in court for clients’ court hearings
- Help client and family understand what is happening in court and what to expect before and after court
- Attend all staffing for juveniles on caseload including CRTs school re-entry/threat assessments etc.
- Enter tracking data into ETO and provide tracking information for TRAILS and CYDC tracking purposes
- Provide community resources and referrals for clients and their families
- Work as an unofficial mentor to clients by modeling behavior when interacting with them in the community in day-to-day settings
- Performs related work, as required
- May be reassigned during emergency situations
