Our success is measured by the trust of those who rely on what we build and deliver, and our technologies keep the United States and its allies mission-ready throughout space.
We are mission-driven, and together, we are an extraordinary team.
About the Role
The Software Engineer III role involves designing, developing, and testing software applications for space systems and technologies. This advanced position requires expertise in at least one programming language, an advanced understanding of software development principles, and the ability to design and architect complex software systems. The role includes writing clean, maintainable code, collaborating with team members to understand project requirements, and contributing to the development of innovative software solutions.
Additionally, this position involves mentoring and guiding other engineers, providing technical leadership and support.
As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and Kubernetes deployments such as the Big Bang framework, while also developing comprehensive testing strategies throughout the deployment pipeline. This role spans both on-premises and cloud environments, with particular emphasis on air-gapped operations. You will design and maintain infrastructure using secure IaC tools like Terraform or Ansible, implement comprehensive observability solutions for proactive monitoring, and seamlessly integrate security practices throughout the development lifecycle.
Your testing responsibilities will include designing automated test frameworks for infrastructure validation, implementing test-driven development practices, creating testing suites for container security and compliance, and establishing quality gates within CI/CD pipelines. The ideal candidate must have strong expertise in container technologies, Git Ops workflows, infrastructure as code, software development workflows, security tooling, and automated testing methodologies.
Experience with infrastructure testing tools, container image scanning, proficiency in writing automated tests for Kubernetes deployments, and knowledge of security testing frameworks is essential. You should be comfortable collaborating with development teams to optimize processes and ensure high-quality, reproducible software delivery that meets stringent compliance requirements through rigorous testing and validation.
