CI/CD Pipelines Software Engineer – design, modernize, and enhance automated pipelines for mission critical software. Build and optimize Git Lab‑based pipelines, integrate security scanning, and contribute to cloud‑enabled development workflows across AWS and container platforms. Collaborate to increase pipeline resiliency, reduce manual toil, and support major transformation initiatives such as Git Lab migration and cloud development environment adoption.

Core Technical Competencies
  • Design, implement, and enhance CI/CD pipelines for software engineering teams, aligned with initiatives such as:
    • Cloud Development Environments
    • Git Lab migration and production readiness
    • Pipeline scalability and sustainability improvements
    • Artifactory structure improvements and Terraform repo restructuring
  • Hands‑on experience integrating security scanning into pipelines: JFrog Artifactory/XRay, Sonar Qube, container scanning, dependency scanning.
  • Implementation of secure coding dashboards, quality profiles, and Policy-as-Code controls.
  • Automated policy enforcement, remediation workflows, and pipeline gating based on security posture.
  • Strong scripting and automation abilities (Python, Bash, Power Shell).
  • Break down Terraform or pipeline IaC into modular, maintainable components.
  • Familiarity with AWS build/deploy processes and Git Lab runners deployed in cloud or hybrid infrastructure.
  • Awareness of CMMC‑aligned Dev Sec Ops  guardrails and pipeline hardening requirements.
Responsibilities
  • Develop, optimize, and maintain Git Lab pipelines supporting cloud and on‑prem builds using Bamboo/Bitbucket.
  • Build isolated or specialized pipelines when required by mission or security needs.
  • Contribute to Cloud Developer Environment PoC, test deployment, pilot readiness, and pipeline conversions.
  • Support heritage container scanning pipeline sustainment and modernization.
  • Deploy and maintain Sonar Qube quality profiles, secure coding dashboards, and scanning enhancements.
  • Embed secure coding standards from the ULA Secure Coding Framework into CI/CD workflows.
  • Support compliance initiatives such as CMMC‑related assessments, vulnerability remediation, and pipeline audit readiness.
  • Work with teams to ensure aligned pipeline standards, security posture, and reliable software delivery.
Required Education

Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field from an accredited college or university.

Required Experience

Minimum of 4 years of related work experience.

Basic Qualifications
  • 4+ years’ experience in CI/CD, Dev Ops, software development, or security engineering.
  • Experience operating and developing Git Lab‑based pipelines.
  • Hands‑on experience with security scanning tools (JFrog, XRay, Trivy, etc.) and integrating them into CI/CD workflows.
  • Proficiency with Python, Bash, or Shell scripting.
  • Mid‑to‑senior level knowledge of IaC and AWS fundamentals.
  • Ability to troubleshoot pipeline issues, identify root causes, and develop corrective actions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with cloud‑based development environment tools.
  • Certifications:

    AWS Cloud Practitioner, AWS Solutions Architect (Associate level), CKA – Certified Kubernetes Administrator.
