Software Engineer III

Lead the design, development, and optimization of complex software systems for aerospace applications
Design, build, and maintain the enterprise UI component library for SNC web applications
Operate the private package registry that secures and distributes internal artifacts
Create and maintain application templates and scaffolding tools for production-ready services
Build and improve the Internal Developer Portal for service catalog, documentation, templates, and platform tooling
Develop and maintain shared SDKs and platform libraries for SNC infrastructure
Write and maintain developer documentation, guides, and enablement content
Collect developer feedback and measure DORA and SPACE productivity metrics
Partner with Platform Engineering and AI teams to surface platform capabilities through the Internal Developer Portal
Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an agile environment to meet performance and quality standards

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
• 6+ years of experience in software development
• Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience
• Advanced proficiency in C++, Java, or Python
• Practical knowledge of engineering principles and practices
• Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams
• Proficiency in Type Script/JavaScript, with React preferred
• Proficiency in at least one backend language:
  Python, Go, or Java
• Experience building component libraries, design systems, or internal developer tooling preferred
• Familiarity with developer portal frameworks such as Backstage, Port, Cortex, or equivalent preferred
• Experience with package registry management using Nexus, Artifactory, Git Hub Packages, or equivalent preferred
• Ability to work on a computer for extended periods
• Hand/finger dexterity for coding and testing
• Ability to work in a hybrid environment with occasional travel
• Applicant must be a U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State or U.S. Department of Commerce

Demonstrates advanced proficiency in C++, Java, or Python, with a strong focus on building and maintaining enterprise UI component libraries and internal developer tooling. Collaborates effectively in multi-disciplinary teams within an agile environment to optimize software systems for aerospace applications.
