SummaryUnder general supervision and in accordance with established policies and procedures, the incumbent is responsible for accurately and efficiently answering calls and scheduling patient appointments. Requires strong problem solving, analytical skills, high ethical standards, and the ability to self‑direct and self‑motivate in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment.
Job Duties & Essential Functions- High volume appointment scheduling and phone calls.
- Schedule appointments following protocols.
- Obtain, verify and input all information accurately into the scheduling system.
- Conduct insurance verification.
- Provide customer service to patients.
- Demonstrate courteous and professional behavior when dealing with patients.
- Resolve patient inquiries or escalates for solutions.
- Route calls to proper departments.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by management.
- High School Diploma/GED.
- Strong organizational and communication skills (verbal and written).
- Excellent typing skills and friendly telephone etiquette.
- 6 months of clerical experience.
- Experience working in a physician practice.
- Experience in a call center.
- Experience with an appointment scheduling system.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Bilingual in Spanish.
The position is largely sedentary and requires the employee to remain stationary for a majority of the day. The employee must be able to communicate with patients, staff and medical providers, exchanging accurate information as required.
