Job Title: Assembler II - Sub Assembly Refrigeration

FLSA Status: Hourly / Non-Exempt

Department: Operations

Supervisor: Production Supervisor

Shift: 1st

What we are looking for

Sub Assembly Refrigeration works as part of a team with responsibility for assembling different components of product lines. Sub Assembly Refrigeration prepares the coil(s) as described in the job text, performs leak checks, fills the coil with nitrogen, and places the pressure plates on the coil(s).

What you ll be responsible for in this role
  • Read and comprehend a job order and bill of materials
  • Identify parts used on the assigned product line and their placement on the product
  • Read and comprehend blueprints or schematic drawings to determine locations, size, capacity, and type of components (e.g., compressor, condenser, expansion valves, tubing or piping) needed to build equipment
  • Cut, bend, and braze specified tubing to inlets and outlets of components to form liquid and suction lines or refrigeration systems
  • Remove air from the system and charge the system with the specified amount and type of refrigerant
  • Conduct pre-startup checks on equipment
  • Identify power and hand tools used on the assigned product line
  • Perform assembly-type functions using hand or power tools
  • Identify parts and part descriptions using work order information (e.g., bill of materials)
  • Utilize information on material gauging and dimensioning
  • Read rulers, tape measures, metal squares, and other measuring instruments
  • Fasten parts together with bolts, screws, fasteners, rivets, or clips
  • Identify maintenance needs on equipment and tooling
  • Utilize electrical testing equipment such as dielectric testers or voltage meters
  • Work at different workstations as production needs require
  • Maintain the work area in a clean, safe, and orderly manner
  • Use proper safety equipment and apparel required for each operation
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Physical Demands

  • Constantly – standing, reaching, gripping, visual acuity (near/far), and lift/carry up to 10 lbs
