Certified Nursing Assistant – Long Term Care

Mercy One Centerville Medical Center is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to support the professional clinical staff by providing direct resident care during 12‑hour weekend shifts, including holidays, as scheduled.

• Deliver assigned resident care and treatment as delegated by an RN or LPN.
• Provide direct care to adult and geriatric long‑term care residents, supervising and assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed while promoting independence.
• Assist residents with activities including personal hygiene, bathing, transportation, range of motion exercises, dressing, feeding, changing bandages, elimination needs, and emptying drainage devices.
• Safely ambulate residents who are able, reporting to the charge nurse or supervisor when ambulation becomes difficult or unsafe.
• Respond to resident calls and anticipate resident needs.
• Assure resident safety and comfort through use of safe patient handling techniques, regular rounding, environmental maintenance, equipment maintenance, and other appropriate safety measures.
• Calculate intake and output, measure vital signs, and record data in resident health records in compliance with company policy.
• Initiate or assist with emergency support measures, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation and protection of residents from injury.
• Perform post‑mortem care, prepare residents and rooms for admissions and transfers, observe and report changes in physical or mental condition or behavior.
• Collect and label specimens and perform other duties as needed and assigned by the manager.

• Must be a certified Nursing Aide with a minimum of 75 hours of training.
• Minimum age of 16 years.
• Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter – Child and/or Dependent Adult Abuse training within three (3) months of hire.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification within six (6) weeks of hire.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.
