Miami Valley Hospital South – Physical Therapist
Full‑time Sports Medicine Physical Therapist. 1‑on‑1, 45‑minute follow‑up appointments; 1‑hour initial assessments.
SummaryThe Physical Therapist assumes a dynamic leadership role on interdisciplinary patient care teams. Identifies patient care needs, develops a plan of care and goals collaboratively, provides treatment techniques, education and support, and facilitates continuing care planning. Participates in staff and cost management and professional practice activities. Demonstrates excellent customer service and contributes to overall department effectiveness.
Education- Physical Therapy degree from an accredited program (new graduates welcome)
- Current Physical Therapy license in the State of Ohio
- BLS certification within 30 days of hire required
- Preferred 1‑3 years of job‑related experience (new graduates welcome)
- Able to multi‑task with constant interruptions while maintaining a pleasant demeanor
- Dependable, flexible, and adaptable to change
- Teamwork oriented; displays tact, diplomacy, and professionalism
- Strong analytical, prioritization, and organizational skills
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Maintains a high degree of confidentiality
- Basic computer knowledge and skills
- Demonstrates traits and behaviors such as focusing on patients/customers, walking the talk, being a partner, adding skills/abilities, working independently, managing in changing environments, engaging the workforce, and managing & improving performance
- Provides positive and professional representation of the organization
- Promotes a culture of safety through proper identification, reporting, documentation, and prevention
- Maintains hospital standards for a clean and quiet patient environment
- Maintains competency and knowledge of current standards of practice, trends, and developments in related practice
- Adheres to infection prevention policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations
- Participates in ongoing quality improvement activities
- Complies with organizational and regulatory policies for handling confidential patient information
- Demonstrates excellent customer service consistent with the organization’s vision, mission, and values
- Adheres to professional, federal, state, local, TJC, and other accrediting standards
- Reports to work as required
- Evaluates, treats, documents, delegates, and discharges patients per service guidelines
- Engages in interdisciplinary patient care management
- Bills appropriately for services and supplies provided, matching documentation with service charges
- Provides oversight of Physical Therapist Assistants
- Provides patient/family education
- Participates in program/service performance improvement activities
- Manages case load per department standards
- Engages in patient satisfaction efforts and seeks opportunities for a satisfying patient experience
- Passes required hospital/department competencies and related testing; applies to everyday performance
