Ultrasound Tech-Multi-Reg​/PRN​/Miami Valley Hospital South

Position Summary

Independently performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures and ultrasound-directed interventional procedures utilizing proper techniques and protocols. Works under scope of practice and in accordance with registry in the operation of equipment. Coordinates patient flow and the activities of the Ultrasound Department. Exercises professional judgment in the performance of duties in order to maintain equipment in good working condition. May perform procedures in other imaging modalities based on departmental needs and may have on‑call responsibilities.

No supervisory responsibilities.

• Associate degree required.
• Major:
  Ultrasonography.
• Preferred:
  Associate degree or graduate of an accredited program.

• Credentialed in ultrasound technology by ARDMS or ARRT.
• Vascular credentialed by ARDMS‑RVT, CCI‑RVS, or Cardiovascular Credentialing International.
• Minimum of one additional registry in a practiced specialty is required (e.g., Abdomen, OB/GYN, Muscular Skeletal, Neurosonology, Breast).
• CPR certification required within 30 days of hire.

• No prior job‑related work experience required.
• Preferred experience:
  
  2 years in ultrasound.

• Proficient in performing diagnostic procedures and obtaining diagnostic images for physician interpretation.
• Proficient in EMR, RIS, and image storage systems.
• Advanced ultrasound applications.

• Must be able to push, pull, or lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must tolerate exposure to aggressive or violent behaviors from patients or visitors.
• Must be able to work under stressful, high‑volume conditions.
