Store Clerk

Job Description

This entry-level clerk position prepares the way of salvation and exaltation by making essential gospel teachings, resources, and services accessible to God's children. The role fosters an environment of reverence and respect and guides customers to make informed product decisions. The incumbent must be endowed and hold a current recommend.

• Greets customers and ascertains customers’ needs
• Provides high-quality customer service and product knowledge to assist customers
• Develops understanding of the contents and/or properties of all products to adequately serve customers
• Responds to customer questions regarding curriculum, proper fitting of clothing, or issues of similar complexity
• Provides personal fitting consultation to patrons at the distribution store when requested
• Prepares merchandise for purchase
• Operates point-of-sale terminal, finalizes sales, and processes returns
• Assists the store supervisor in ensuring the store is attractively displayed, well presented, and adequately stocked
• Assists the store supervisor with inventory and cycle counts
• Performs housekeeping duties to maintain facility, equipment, and storage areas in good condition
• Works as scheduled, including Saturdays and holidays
• Assists with other operational responsibilities as needed

• Part‑time position, 20 hours per week

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to complete internal customer service training within one month of hire
• Basic math, reading, computer, and cashiering skills
• Good communication skills and ability to work well with others
• Ability to work under direct supervision and follow standard procedures and written instructions to accomplish assigned tasks
• Ability to work as scheduled, including Saturdays and holidays
• Experience operating in a retail environment
• Physical ability to stand for long periods, stoop, bend, and lift up to 40 pounds

• Retail sales and/or customer service experience
