About the positionHogan & Associates Construction has immediate openings for EQUIPMENT OPERATORS . An Equipment Operator operates several types of power construction equipment such as Dozer, Loader, Front-end loader, Bobcat, Backhoe, and scrapers to excavate, move, and grade earth. Minimum of four year’s operating heavy equipment. Must be able to follow directions. Must be able to read and understand plans, set a laser and read elevations.
Must be able to identify machines and capabilities of each piece of heavy equipment. Be able to perform a pre-trip inspection, check motor oil & steering fluid and be able to grease the heavy equipment, jump start a battery, adjust slack adjuster, etc. Must be able to slope a trench and know how to use a trench box. Must have reliable transportation and be able to travel.
Employment offers are contingent upon successfully passing a pre-employment drug test and background check. Must be able to travel and have reliable transportation. Only qualified applicants will be considered.
- High school diploma preferred.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Able to work along the Wasatch front (from Brigham City UT to Springville UT and everywhere in between).
- Able to pass a pre-employment drug test and continue to pass random drug tests.
- Able to pass a background check.
- Maintains tools and equipment in safe operating condition.
- Eligible to work in the United States.
8 hours per day, minimum of 40 hours per week and overtime as necessary or until work is completed. Shifts (day, swing and night) and work assignments may vary as deemed necessary by management.

Physical Ability RequirementsEmployees will be required to complete a physical abilities evaluation prior to being hired which includes the following requirements:
Lift 100 lbs. vertical from floor to waist, lift 50 lbs. from floor to head level, horizontally carry 50 lbs. a distance of 50 feet, horizontally transfer 150 lbs. of force on a sled a distance of 50 feet, minimum of 75 lb. requirement of grip strength in both hands, ascend and descend 3 rungs of a ladder, forward bend to reach a point 3 inches from the floor, squat to reach a point 3 inches from the floor, and stand on one leg while placing arms across chest with hands touching shoulders and do not let legs touch each other for a 20 second hold.
