Position: Pre-K Special Educator (Self-Contained) - Central Falls, RI
Pre-K Special Educator (Self-Contained) (New Graduates Accepted) - Central Falls, RI

Job Summary & Responsibilities:

The facility is seeking a passionate, knowledgeable, and innovative educator to join as a Pre-K Special Educator (Self-Contained - 2 Sessions). The ideal candidate will demonstrate commitment to the district's core values of Equity, Empowerment, and Excellence by fostering strong relationships with students, staff, and families, and delivering high-quality, individualized instruction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide daily instruction aligned with Rhode Island Early Learning Standards, CFSD Curriculum, and each student's IEP.
  • Develop, implement, and manage IEPs in compliance with State and Federal Regulations.
  • Collaborate with teaching assistants, grade-level teams, and related service providers to plan and deliver instruction.
  • Apply culturally responsive teaching strategies and assessments.
  • Modify and adapt instruction to meet the needs of all learners, including Multilingual Learners (MLLs).
  • Serve as case manager for assigned students, coordinating services, evaluations, and progress monitoring.
  • Maintain open and effective communication with families throughout the IEP process.
  • Utilize adaptive and assistive technologies to enhance learning outcomes.
  • Implement classroom accommodations and WIDA-based adaptations for MLLs.
  • Monitor and assess student progress using Teaching Strategies GOLD (TSG) and other district tools.
  • Maintain a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Building Administrator or Director of Student Services.
Education, Licensure, and

Experience:
  • Valid Rhode Island Teaching Certification in Early Childhood Education (PK-2) and Early Childhood Special Education (PK-2).
  • Valid Rhode Island ESL Certification or willingness to obtain within three (3) years (emergency certification required if not yet held).
  • CPI Certification (required).
  • Training in the Science of Reading (required).
  • Bilingual candidates highly preferred.
  • Ability to perform all duties per CFSD policies and practices.

NOTE:

Contract Term:
Three (3) years required. If the educator leaves before completion, a prorated contracting fee will apply. (Fee waived if released by the district.)
