Job DescriptionThis job description has been prepared to assist in evaluating various classes of responsibilities, skills and working conditions. It indicates the kinds of tasks and levels of work difficulty required of the Registered Behavior Technician Academic Fellow at the Segue Institute for Learning.

Responsibilities- Support in the implementation of modifications and accommodations as outlined in Individualized Education Programs, Functional Behavior Assessments, and Behavior Intervention Plans for students as directed by case managers, classroom teachers, BCBA, and administrators.
- Provide small group and/or 1:1 assistance to students as directed by the special education teacher and/or classroom teacher.
- Work collaboratively with special education, BCBA, and general education staff to ensure cohesive wrap around services for students with special needs.
- Complete all required RBT renewals, certifications, Safety Care Training, etc. and receive RBT supervision from district BCBA monthly.
- Gather and maintain data about the academic and behavioral performance of students as directed by case managers, classroom teachers, and administrators.
- Works collaboratively with general education teachers and special education teachers to provide an instructional program aligned to the regular education curriculum and Common Core State Standards, while ensuring students’ needs are met.
- Follow discipline guidelines in accordance with Segue's Positive Behavior System.
- Use effective communication skills to plan with team members, discuss student concerns, and report student performance with all members of the school community (Teachers, support staff, administration and parents).
- Demonstrate an understanding of school policies and procedures.
- Exhibit attributes of reliable attendance, promptness, and dependability.
- Select and use the appropriate channels to resolve concerns.
- Previous experience working with students with disabilities and/or autism preferred.
- Certified as Registered Behavior Technician, or willing to obtain within the first year of employment.
- Previous Safety Care experience preferred, or willingness to obtain certification within the first year of employment.
- Strong student-advocacy drive and ability to communicate with colleagues effectively.
- Bachelor degree preferred.
- Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
