The mission of the Segue Institute for Learning is to foster a community where students take ownership of their education. • Implements and designs instructional activities that contribute to a climate where students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences.
• Identifies, selects, and modifies instructional resources to meet the needs of students with varying backgrounds, learning styles, and individual needs.
• Collaborates to develop, align, and modify curriculum and assessments.
• Assumes responsibility for meeting student performance goals in the course as well as school-wide student learning objectives.
• Ensures that student growth and achievement is continuous and appropriate for age group, subject area, and/or program classification.
• Implements PBIS and restorative practices to manage classroom.
• Collaborates to develop, align, and modify lessons, curriculum, and assessments (e.g. Performance Based Assessments).
• Maintains effective and efficient record-keeping procedures (parent communication log, behavioral log, student work samples).
• Collaborates with colleagues to enhance the instructional environment.
• Models professional and ethical standards when dealing with students, parents, peers, and community.
• Participates in professional development opportunities.
• Follows all school safety procedures and protocols.
• Provides a positive environment in which students and families are encouraged to be actively engaged in all facets of the learning process.
• Communicates effectively with students, parents, and other professionals on a regular basis (phone calls, post cards, emails, parent-teacher conferences, progress reports, etc).
• Establishes and maintains cooperative working relationships with students, parents, teachers, and community.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities to meet the needs of the school.
• Takes an active role in the school environment during and after school hours with individual initiatives or activities (field trips, school concerts, etc).

Full-time

• RI Teacher Certification required or eligible.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
