Job Title: HSE Advisor – Substation Construction (Night Shift)

Location: North Kingstown, RI – Offshore Wind Project

Schedule: Primarily Night Shift – Flexibility Required

Duration: Project-Based Contract 5-6 Months

Position Overview:

Our client is seeking a motivated and safety-minded HSE Advisor to support the offshore wind project’s onshore substation construction in North Kingstown, RI. This position will focus on ensuring the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental performance during the construction phase, with an emphasis on night shift oversight.

This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate with a strong interest in construction safety to gain valuable hands-on experience in a major renewable energy infrastructure project. The role requires flexibility, willingness to learn, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic construction environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide HSE support to the site team during substation construction activities, particularly during night shift operations.
• Assist in the implementation of the client’s HSE management systems, policies, and procedures.
• Conduct site observations, safety walks, and inspections to identify hazards and promote safe work practices.
• Support incident reporting, investigation, and root cause analysis processes.
• Participate in toolbox talks, safety meetings, and HSE training sessions.
• Ensure compliance with applicable local, state, and federal safety regulations.
• Collaborate with contractors and subcontractors to foster a strong safety culture.
• Maintain accurate and timely HSE documentation and reporting.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (recent graduates encouraged to apply).
• Knowledge of construction safety principles and OSHA regulations (OSHA 30 Construction certification preferred or willingness to obtain).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to work effectively with site teams and contractors.
• Ability to work independently on night shifts while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
• Flexibility to adapt to evolving project needs and work schedules.
• Interest in renewable energy, infrastructure, and/or large-scale construction projects.

Preferred Experience:

• Prior experience or internship in construction, utilities, or renewable energy projects is an advantage but not required.
• Familiarity with substation construction or electrical infrastructure safety is a plus.
