EAC Network, a leading not-for-profit social service agency dedicated to helping over 79,000 people through 100 impactful programs across Long Island and NYC, is looking for a dedicated full time ADR Specialist (Family Court Service) to join the Long Island Dispute Resolution Centers (LIDRC).

Salary: $30/hour

Schedule:

Monday-Friday 9AM-5PM with occasional evening

Location:

400 Carlton Ave in Central Islip, NY

What drives the core purpose of this job:

Provides scheduled Family and Matrimonial Court coverage in the morning and afternoon; conducts in-court intake and screening; coordinates mediations; facilitates and hosts in-person and virtual hearings; mediates as needed; and shares responsibility with Matrimonial Court Screening services. Provides support for specialized mediation and apprenticeship programming. The position requires periodic travel between Nassau and Suffolk Counties, as well as occasional travel throughout New York State for meetings, trainings, conferences, program coverage, and other agency-related activities.

What

are the key responsibilities:
  • Provide daily in-court coverage in Suffolk County Family Court
  • Conduct intake and screening of parties for mediation appropriateness
  • Explain mediation and other ADR processes to litigants
  • Coordinate and schedule mediations with staff and volunteer mediators
  • Facilitate and host in-person and virtual mediation hearings
  • Prepare and submit required court documentation and disposition reports
  • Maintain regular communication with court clerks, judges, and court administrators
  • Share responsibility for Matrimonial Court ADR services as assigned
Program Support and Development:
  • Support specialized mediation initiatives and apprenticeship programming
  • Participate in program development and service coordination activities
  • Assist with training and orientation of new staff and volunteers as assigned
  • Participate in outreach and court coordination meetings
  • Participate in staff meetings, supervision, and required trainings
General Program Responsibilities:
  • Maintain confidential case files and documentation
  • Enter case data into Caseload Manager
  • Participate in staff meetings and training activities
  • Assist with outreach and public education efforts
  • Perform other ADR duties as assigned
What key knowledge, skills, and abilities are required to excel in this role:
  • Associate's degree, Bachelor's degree in conflict resolution, human services, criminal justice, or related field
  • Certified mediator or eligible for certification
  • Experience working in court-based Family or community mediation programs preferred
  • Strong organizational, communication, and data management skills
  • Excellent communication, organization, and attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, database systems, and virtual platforms (Zoom,Webex, Teams)
  • Valid NYS driver's license and reliable transportation
