We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Nursery Room Leader to join an excellent nursery based in Anerley. The Nursery Room Leader will have a strong background in early childhood education with a Level 3 qualification or equivalent and a genuine love for working with young children. The role involves creating a nurturing and stimulating environment that promotes the development of children in the nursery setting.
As a Nursery Room Leader, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the educational experiences of our youngest learners.
If you don’t have experience as a Nursery Room Leader or you don’t want to take the next step, the nursery is also looking for nursery practitioners.
YOU MUST HOLD A LEVEL 3 QUALIFICATION IN CHILDCARE / EARLY YEARS OR EQUIVALENT FOR THE NURSERY ROOM LEADER ROLE TO BE COUNTED IN RATIO.
Salary: £27,750 – £30,500 per annum

40 hours per week over 4 or 5 days

- Provide high-quality care for children aged 0-5 years, ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met.
- Support and supervise playroom staff with their day-to-day duties.
- Plan and implement engaging educational activities that promote early childhood development.
- Deploy staff appropriately to ensure that the required standards are delivered and maintained within the rooms.
- Implementation of the nursery key carer procedures and allocate children to key carers appropriately.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and stimulating environment for children to explore and learn.
- Ensure the nursery meets the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child’s progress and any concerns that may arise.
- Collaborate with colleagues to create a cohesive team approach to childcare.
- Manage daily routines, including meal times, nap times, and play activities.
- Observe and assess children’s development, documenting progress as required.
- Drive initiatives that promote leadership within the nursery setting.
- Hold a level 2 or 3 qualification or above within early years.
- Have excellent knowledge of EYFS guidelines.
- Previous experience in childcare or early childhood education.
- A background in managing or leading teams within a nursery or similar environment is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written to effectively engage with children, parents, and colleagues.
As part of our commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the children and young people, the successful candidate is expected to undergo an enhanced DBS check. This is required for the role of a Nursery Room Leader.
