Commercial Catering Engineer

The Commercial Catering Engineer is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing a variety of commercial kitchen equipment. These professionals ensure that the kitchen machinery, such as ovens, refrigerators, dishwashers, fryers, and hoods, is running smoothly, safely, and efficiently. The job requires technical skills, knowledge of kitchen appliances, and the ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.

• Installation & Commissioning
  • Install new commercial kitchen equipment, including ovens, refrigeration units, dishwashers, fryers, and other appliances.
  • Set up and configure appliances to manufacturer specifications.
• Maintenance & Repairs
  • Conduct regular maintenance checks on kitchen equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose faults, carrying out repairs on a wide range of equipment.
  • Perform repairs on equipment that may be out of warranty or no longer covered by a service agreement.
• Safety & Compliance
  • Ensure that all equipment complies with relevant health and safety regulations, as well as electrical and gas safety standards.
  • Ensure all work is carried out according to local and national laws.
  • Advise customers on safe operation and maintenance of equipment.
• Customer Service
  • Communicate clearly with customers, ensuring they understand the technical aspects of the repairs or installations.
  • Provide excellent customer service to build long‑term client relationships.
  • Provide quotes for repairs or maintenance, as well as advice on product upgrades or replacements.
• Stock Management
  • Manage and maintain an inventory of parts and tools.
  • Order parts and materials as needed for repairs or installations.
• Documentation & Reporting
  • Maintain accurate service records, including repair history, parts used, and maintenance schedules.
  • Prepare reports for clients and management as required.
