Equans currently has an exciting opportunity for a Fabric Operative to join our FM team working at a prestigious central government building in Westminster. This is a permanent position working 40 hours per week from 07:00 to 16:00, Monday to Friday. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
What will you deliver?- Reporting to the Building Fabric Supervisor
- To undertake fabric repairs of the building in line with the PPM schedule ensuring that work is carried out efficiently to contract specification and client satisfaction
- To apply trade skills to carry out scheduled and reactive tasks as needed
- Duties will include but not be limited to: basic carpentry, painting/decorating, lock repairs, tiling, vinyl floor repairs, fire door maintenance and general office relocations
- To maintain aspects of fire and smoke prevention, including periodic fire door inspections and associated maintenance
- To accurately record all works carried out and completed and identify any remedial works to be undertaken on the documentation provided
- Provide support to other disciplines within the building
- To order materials and services using the ordering system and to update records and job sheets to certify satisfactory delivery/completion
- To oversee specialist contractors by escorting them around the building and monitoring work
- Must have general handyperson knowledge and experience
- Level II Carpentry/Joinery qualification is desirable
- Must have experience of working within the maintenance/hard services area of an FM business
- Must have good IT skills
- Hard working with a can‑do attitude and able to work unsupervised
- Employment in this post is dependent upon obtaining security clearance; this requires 5 years’ residency in the UK and a valid British or EU passport
