Overview of role

Do you have experience of working in a mechanical/electrical environment? If so, we would like to hear from you.

We have a great opportunity for Support Technicians to work with the Signals Team. Your role will be to provide assistance and support in the delivery of maintenance and installation activities on all field-based London Underground Signalling equipment and systems.

Key Accountabilities
  • Assist and support in the delivery of maintenance and installation activities on all field-based LU Signalling equipment and systems
  • Prepare tools, equipment and any other resources (equipment is manual or powered)
  • Assist maintaining equipment to relevant standards and work instructions
  • Assist with testing to prove conformity to standards
  • Assist in identifying faulty equipment by means of testing
  • Assist with checks on equipment for defects and prepare for use prior to installation
  • Follow and adhere to work directions and instructions
  • Complete and deliver of all aspects of assigned work
  • Hold and maintain appropriate licenses
Skills
  • You will have the ability to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and written (Essential)
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a safety critical and challenging environment (Essential)
  • You will be able to work as part of a team (Essential)
  • Ability to receive, understand and undertake work instructions (Essential)
  • Demonstrated ability to recognise scenarios /instances where escalation of issues is appropriate (Essential)
Knowledge
  • Hold valid Entry Permit/Lucas Card (Desirable)
  • Hold or ability to hold relevant Track and Safety licences inc. Individual Working Alone (IWA) (Essential)
  • Hold or ability to hold Safety Critical Licence / PWT/EH (Essential)
  • You will hold current clean manual driving licence and be willing to drive company vehicles (Essential)
  • Ability to obtain and hold IRSE Licence cat 1.4.100 (Assistant Signalling Maintainer) (Essential)
Experience
  • Experience of working in a mechanical/electrical environment (Desirable)
  • Experience of working in a railway environment (Desirable)
  • Experience working Nights/Shift Work (Desirable)
Location

You could be based anywhere in the Greater London area, depending on business requirements.
