Windsor Forest Colleges Group is looking for an Estates Maintenance Operative to join our Estates team at Slough & Langley College on a full-time basis, with travel to our Windsor and Strodes campuses as required. This role pays on our Support Scale from I23 £ 30,888 up to I25 £ 32,706 per annum, which is dependent on experience and qualifications.
Key Responsibilities- Provide a high-quality maintenance service, ensuring buildings, grounds, equipment, and learning environments are safe, secure, and well-maintained.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs, including carpentry and joinery, plumbing, painting and decorating, flooring, door and lock repairs, and general building maintenance.
- Support refurbishment and improvement projects across the College.
- Conduct routine building and site inspections, respond to maintenance requests, and support health and safety and compliance activities.
- Assist contractors working on site, set up rooms and events, and ensure the general upkeep of college facilities.
- Good all-round maintenance and practical skills with experience in planned and reactive maintenance.
- Confident in diagnosing faults and providing practical solutions.
- Understanding of safe working practices and ability to organize and prioritize workload effectively.
- Strong communication and customer service skills for working with colleagues, students, contractors, and visitors.
- A full UK driving licence is essential.
- Recognised trade qualification, apprenticeship, or equivalent practical experience is advantageous.
