Position: Sign Language Interpreter in Central Point, OR
Make a real difference in the lives of students by providing essential sign language interpretation services throughout the  school year. We are seeking four skilled sign language interpreters for full-time, onsite contract assignments supporting K-12 students in a dynamic educational environment. This is a fantastic opportunity to put your skills to meaningful use, contribute to inclusive education, and collaborate with a dedicated team of educators and specialists.

Assignments will be based in the Rosenburg and Douglas, OR areas.

Key

Qualifications:
  • Valid Oregon state Sign Language Interpreter certification or licensure is required
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and other relevant methods of communication for deaf and hard-of-hearing students
  • Previous experience working with school-aged children (K-12) is preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Commitment to professionalism and confidentiality within the school setting
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, students, and families
Responsibilities:
  • Provide interpretation and transliteration services between students, staff, and families
  • Support student understanding and participation in classroom activities, assemblies, and school functions
  • Adapt signing methods to individual student needs and educational goals
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation as required by the school or district
  • Participate in planning sessions, IEP meetings, and feedback as needed
This full-time contract appointment runs from August 24, 2026, to June 11, 2027, providing you the stability of the academic calendar and the chance to build lasting connections in the educational community.
