Overview
Hospice RN at Providence Health and Services. The Hospice RN provides compassionate, patient-centered care for individuals and families facing end-of-life situations, coordinating with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure comfort and dignity. Under the direction of the Hospice Clinical Supervisor and on order of the physician, the RN is accountable for direct and indirect quality care for patients and families of all ages, according to individualized needs, following the nursing process and in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act.
The role supports patient comfort and peaceful passing while fostering professional development and teamwork in a hospice setting.
- Manage a caseload of patients within the hospice service area.
- Follow physician orders and adhere to professional nursing standards and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate patient care activities with other members of the health care team in a collegial relationship to promote patient comfort and assist in the achievement of a comfortable and peaceful death.
- Apply the nursing process and maintain compliance with the Nurse Practice Act.
- Education to meet certification, license or registration requirement.
- Oregon Registered Nurse License upon hire.
- 1 year medical/surgical experience, recent acute care or long-term care experience.
- Experience in end-of-life care.
- Recent oncology, home hospice, or home health experience.
Base pay range: $40.90 – $63.49. Additional compensation may be available for shift differentials, standby/on‑call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
