Job Description

The Early Childhood Program Specialist 3 supports the development, safety, and well‑being of children through the implementation of developmentally appropriate curriculum, positive classroom management, and family engagement. The position promotes a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment while ensuring compliance with all applicable licensing, safety, and program standards.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintain a safe, healthy, and proactive learning environment.
  • Follow all health, safety, licensing, and supervision requirements.
  • Build positive relationships with children, families, staff, and community partners.
  • Implement curriculum and developmentally appropriate learning activities.
  • Conduct child assessments accurately and utilize assessment data to support individualized instruction.
  • Complete lesson plans, maintain child records, and participate in required documentation processes.
  • Support children's social‑emotional development and guide behavior using positive reinforcement strategies.
  • Supervise and mentor assistants, students, and volunteers.
  • Participate in meetings, professional development, trainings, and coaching opportunities.
  • Maintain required certifications and fulfill mandated reporter responsibilities.
  • Support program outreach, events, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Positions typically require forty‑five college quarter hours in early childhood development/education/special education or equivalent or a Child Development Associate Credential (CDA)

AND

two years of experience working in a group setting with children of the ages enrolled in the program.

OR

Conditions of Employment

There is one 40 hours per week, 9.5‑month cyclic position. Continuance of this position is dependent upon grant funding.

Note:
  • Current negative TB test or statement from Health Dept. that named person is cleared;
  • MMR immunity;
  • MERIT/ STARS ;
  • Cleared Department of Children, Youth & Families Portable Background Check clearance in MERIT Current First Aid and CPR training documentation;
  • HIV/AIDS Training and/or Blood Pathogens;
  • Child Abuse/Neglect Training, inclusive of reporting procedures;
Deadline

This position will close May 31, 2026. The screening committee will begin their review June 1, 2026.

Compensation

Monthly Salary:
Range 48 ($4,320 - $5,666)
