Centralia College is on a 30-acre campus of modern buildings set among walking paths, lawns, and native plantings just a few blocks from the heart of Centralia, Washington. The college has served students in the Lewis County region since 1925 and is the oldest continuously operating community college in Washington State. The city of Centralia is a historic railroad and river shipping hub with a vibrant downtown and railway station.

In addition to the main campus in Centralia, Centralia College East in Morton is a smaller site that serves the needs of students in east Lewis County. Job Description
The director is responsible for independently providing overall leadership, administration, and supervision of the TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) program. The director shall administer, supervise, and manage all functions of the SSS program to achieve the goals and objectives of the program. The director shall develop, implement, coordinate, and monitor activities that affect the program.
The director shall formulate, coordinate, and administer all TRIO procedures, rules, and policies in accordance with federal legislation, regulations, and guidance, state legislation, regulations, and Centralia College policies. This is a 12-month administrative exempt position at the Director I level that reports directly to the Director of Student Success and Retention.
This position is funded 100% by federal grant dollars, and the position
¿ s continuance is dependent upon the continuation of grant funding.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Develop activities and oversee strategies to accomplish objectives according to federal regulations;
* Publicize and disseminate the purpose, program goals, and services of the TRIO SSS program;
* Develop and implement methods to track participant progress;
* Develop and maintain reciprocal working relationships with staff, community agencies, and/or partners, including the college, and serve on appropriate committees;
* Supervise and evaluate program staff; plan and implement staff training;
* Develop, manage, and monitor TRIO SSS budget and funding cycles, and maintain records of all program expenditures adhering to Department of Education, EDGAR, and CC regulations;
* Develop and implement ongoing program monitoring and evaluation procedures to assess program performance against objectives to ensure grant compliance; develop and implement program policies and procedures to meet TRIO federal mandates and ensure quality program operating in compliance with federal legislation and regulations including preparing and submitting the annual performance report;
* Plan, organize, and conduct workshops and conferences for diverse populations;
* Prepare and assist with the submission of Department of Education administrative reports;
* Monitor program property conditions, supplies, and equipment;
* Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will hold a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of four years of full-time professional, progressive administrative experience in a TRIO or similar program. The Director must possess skills in the following areas:
* student advising
* budget management
* leadership and supervision
* demonstrate excellence in verbal and written communication
* be proficient in using computer software for statistical analysis
* proven ability to effectively support student populations not traditionally served in higher education
* have capacity to work collaboratively with college personnel and outside agencies.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree preferred in education administration, counseling, higher education leadership, or related field with four years of full-time professional, progressive administrative experience in a TRIO or similar program.
