About Us
Centralia College is located on a 30-acre campus in the heart of Centralia, Washington and has been serving students in the Lewis County region since 1925. As a comprehensive community college, Centralia College offers academic transfer and workforce programs, as well as adult basic education, ELL, and personal enrichment classes. The college also offers five Bachelor of Applied Science degrees:
Information Technology – Application Development, Diesel Technology, Applied Management (Business), Behavioral Healthcare and Teacher Education.

In addition to the main campus in Centralia, Centralia College East in Morton is a smaller site that serves the needs of students in east Lewis County. Since the college is committed to the success of all students, Centralia College also provides educational programs at two corrections centers in southwest Washington – Garrett Heyns Education Center located in Shelton, Washington and the Cedar Creek Corrections Center located in Littlerock, Washington.

Job Description
Centralia College seeks a librarian candidate for this tenure-track faculty position. The Instruction and Systems Librarian leads the management of digital resources and services, library integration with eLearning services, and supports library systems and applications. The ideal candidate for this position will have experience with development and delivery of information literacy instruction in an academic setting.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead the administration, management, troubleshooting, end-user support, library staff training, and enhancements to all library technology systems, including ExLibris’ Alma and Primo, Springshare’s Lib Guides, Lib Answers, Lib Cal, and Lib Analytics, OCLC’s EzProxy, OU Campus’ CMS for the library website, SimpleDL for digital archives, and emerging technology platforms for future library technology needs.
  • Serve as the technical liaison between the library and numerous third-party systems (i.e., database aggregators and other providers of electronic content) as well as the college’s IT Services department.
  • Design, teach, and assess course-specific instruction, online learning resources, and other learning experiences that develop information literacy skills and enhance critical thinking through the baccalaureate level.
  • Support and sustain the institution’s information literacy Student Learning Competency including curriculum-development collaboration with faculty.
  • Participate in the development of the library’s print and online collections.
  • Coordinate library technology work with internal and external stakeholders, including library staff, faculty, students, Centralia IT staff, Centralia communications department, vendor support staff, library consortium members and leaders.
  • Assess the learning and research needs of students and faculty to inform the development of appropriate outreach services, learning outcomes, and instructional approaches.
  • Collect, analyze, maintain, and interpret various statistics.
  • Work with publishers, vendors, and campus staff to investigate and resolve discovery and access problems.
  • Support faculty efforts to adopt and create open educational resources and other forms of digital scholarship.
  • Contribute to library strategic planning in order to advance the college’s evolving goals with respect to pedagogy, information, and technology.
  • Participate in assessment and accreditation activities.
  • Participate in shared collegial decision making and planning through service on campus-wide committees.
  • Foster and support campus commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Pursue professional development to stay current in the field.
