- Assign and prioritize daily tasks for shipping and receiving associates.
- Coordinate inbound deliveries and outbound carrier pickups.
- Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders for accuracy.
- Ensure outgoing shipments are complete, accurate, and properly documented.
- Prepare and oversee shipping documentation, labels, and packing lists.
- Investigate and resolve shipping discrepancies, damages, and claims.
- Communicate shipment status, delays, and issues to management.
- Train and coach team members on standard procedures and safety requirements.
- Maintain organized, clean, and safe work areas.
- Collaborate with internal departments and external carriers to ensure smooth operations.
- Monitor workflow and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Support inventory control processes including cycle counts and physical inventories.
Job Duties
- Participate in Rogers Machinery after-hours on-call program, responding to urgent shipping or receiving issues as needed.
- Support emergency or time‑critical shipments outside of normal working hours.
- Provide coverage or backup for the Assistant Warehouse manager when required.
- Assist with training and onboarding of new employees as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support overall warehouse operations.
- 2‑5+ years of warehouse operations experience.
- Prior experience leading or directing team members in a warehouse environment preferred.
- Experience with freight coordination, carrier scheduling, and shipping documentation (BOL, packing lists, etc.).
- Forklift operation experience and ability to become certified.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Good communicator and listener.
- Experience with inventory systems or ERP platforms, Epicor preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, etc.).
- Returning items to stock, lifting frequently up to 25 lbs and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
- Light cleanup of packaging material.
- Driving a forklift.
- Stooping, balancing, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, use of finger dexterity. Needs to be able to stand for extended periods of time. Needs to be able to move without restriction in a shop environment.
