Job Overview
In this fast‑paced role you are the boots on the ground responsible for accurately and efficiently pulling customer orders within the warehouse. The position requires strategic thinking and attention to detail while palletizing orders and ensuring they are placed in the correct assigned locations. You will operate motorized equipment, including electric pallet jacks, to move product safely and accurately.
This is an overnight position. Shift starts at 7 PM on a 4×10 schedule with mandatory extended shifts as needed.
Job Responsibilities- Select various grocery, perishable, frozen or repack products from warehouse stock.
- Report adjustments to inventory counts, spoilage, damage, location changes, and out‑of‑stocks.
- Transport product throughout the warehouse via electric pallet jack.
- Maintain order selection performance standards for speed and accuracy, with minimal damage and maximal safety.
- Perform duties in accordance with HACCP and SQF policies and procedures.
- Carry out other duties as assigned.
- Must work at least 8 hours per week.
- Ability to frequently lift and carry objects up to 75 lbs and occasionally up to 100 lbs.
- Ability and willingness to work in temperatures from –20 °F to 90 °F+.
- Availability and willingness to work holidays and weekends.
- Must pass a criminal background check and a drug screen.
- Experience in a large warehouse/distribution company within the last 3 years.
- Experience with an electric pallet jack or reach lift.
- Understanding of WMS (preferred but not required).
- Strong knowledge of all warehouse procedures and functions.
- Understanding of safety guidelines.
- Ability to meet department minimum rate.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow verbal instructions in grocery, repack, cooler/freezer areas.
- Understanding of procedures in other warehouse areas for a global view.
- Good judgment for situations where supervision may be limited.
This position requires performing all duties at a UNFI distribution center or office.
Physical Environment & Demands- Exposed to temperatures from –20 °F to 35 °F in perishable operations and 37 °F to 90 °F in grocery operations.
- Specific vision requirements: close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
- Repetitive arm, wrist, and hand movements for maintenance and service.
- Work with hands and arms overhead, or in/under equipment.
- Manual dexterity, coordination, and balance at ground level and high places.
- Operate work‑related equipment.

Actual pay, where applicable, will depend on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, education, experience, training, and any requirements under applicable collective bargaining agreements.
