To follow the six steps of financial planning in executing the role of a FAIS licensed financial adviser. A professional introduction must be made to introduce the adviser and the services offered by the adviser. Upon client approval the adviser may conduct a Financial Needs Analysis (FNA) in the disciplines of Investment, Life Insurance and Estate planning. Based on the concluded FNA to make recommendations to address single or multiple needs identified on behalf of the client.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct a full financial needs analysis (FNA) for clients covering investment, life insurance and estate planning.
- Recommend and present authorised, Absa‑approved products that meet client needs, ensuring compliance with FAIS regulations.
- Implement accepted advice through Absa’s new business processes and review client needs regularly to maintain suitability.
- Establish and maintain professional relationships with clients, bank personnel, product providers and adviser support staff.
- Identify business opportunities through lead activities, sales/pipeline meetings and the Absa bancassurance structure.
- Prepare recommendation, quotes and complete necessary product application forms with all required compliance documentation (Client Advice Record, , FICA, etc.).
- Manage commission earnings: capture correct Policy Relevant Information (PRI) numbers, reconcile statements, verify accuracy and maintain an up‑to‑date client database.
- Oversee practice management: train, coach and mentor adviser assistants; ensure compliance with internal training and performance management standards.
- Maintain compliance with FAIS, FICA, FSB, Anti‑Money Laundering, Sanctions, BCM and Basic Financial Crime Concepts.
- Ensure ongoing Fit and Proper status: attend required training, acquire necessary FAIS credits and maintain personal integrity and solvency.
- Bachelor’s degree or advanced diploma in Accounting or a related field; minimum National Senior Certificate/Matric (Grade 12).
- FAIS licensed financial adviser required; maintain Fit and Proper status.
- Experience in financial advisory and product knowledge in investment, life insurance and estate planning preferred.
