About The Role
An exciting opportunity exists for a skilled Tax Specialist to join a dynamic multinational manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring full tax compliance, managing tax risk, and optimising the company’s tax position within regulatory boundaries.
This role serves as a key link between South African statutory requirements and European group tax strategy, ensuring alignment, transparency, governance, and efficiency across local and cross‑border tax matters. The position offers exposure to international tax, OECD frameworks, transfer pricing, and Pillar II implementation within a global group structure.
Qualifications & ExperienceMinimum Qualifications
- Minimum CA(SA) or equivalent qualification.
- Relevant tax qualification (e.g. HDip Tax, Master’s in Taxation).
- 3–5 years’ experience in:
- South African Corporate Income Tax (CIT), VAT, Withholding Tax (WHT), Provisional Tax, and international tax exposure, preferably EU‑related.
- Experience with in multinational group structures and manufacturing or long‑term project environments.
- Big 4 tax advisory experience will be highly advantageous.
- Proven ability to work effectively between local subsidiaries and global head office structures.
- Strong knowledge of South African tax legislation (CIT, VAT, WHT), IFRS Tax Accounting (IAS 12), OECD Transfer Pricing Guidelines, and Double Tax Treaties.
- Exposure to OECD BEPS initiatives, Pillar II / Global Minimum Tax (GloBE rules), and R&D tax claims.
- Experience working with SAP/ERP systems and advanced MS Office skills.
- Strong analytical, reporting, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Manage and ensure accurate submission of all South African tax obligations including Corporate Income Tax, VAT, Provisional Tax, PAYE oversight, and withholding taxes; monitor legislative changes and ensure ongoing SARS compliance.
- Support and advise on cross‑border transactions including dividends, royalties, management fees, and intercompany loans; ensure compliance with transfer pricing regulations, OECD guidelines, and withholding tax requirements.
- Assist with the implementation and monitoring of OECD BEPS and Pillar II requirements, including effective tax rate assessments, data reporting obligations, and transitional safe harbour considerations in collaboration with Group Tax.
- Ensure accurate tax accounting and reporting under IFRS (IAS 12), including current and deferred tax calculations; support monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting requirements for both local and group reporting purposes.
- Manage SARS audits, disputes, and tax risk mitigation processes; strengthen tax governance, internal controls, documentation standards, audit readiness, and overall tax data integrity across the South African entities.
