Leading and well known pharmaceutical company requires a Junior Detailing Sales Representative to join their team for a 12 month fixed term contract.

The Medical Representative will be responsible for building strong professional relationships with Allied Health Professionals in Gauteng and Pretoria. The role focuses on educating and detailing the company brand, driving credibility, awareness and recommendations regarding the scientific and patient benefits and establishing opportunities for Practitioners and Specialists to become brand resellers.

Qualifications and Experience
  • BSc Degree / Human Movement Science / Human Anatomy or qualified as a Chiropractor, Physiotherapist, Biokineticist, Podiatrist or a closely related Allied Health field.
  • Alternatively:
    Strong track record as a Pharmaceutical, Medical or Allied Health Sales Representative
  • Minimum of 1 - 2 years medical / pharmaceutical sales experience is essential
  • Dr detailing experience will secure
  • Strong understanding of healthcare environment, patient treatment pathways and professional practice engagement.
  • Valid driver’s license and own reliable vehicle.
  • Previous experience in field sales, medical detailing or practice engagement will be advantageous

Key Responsibilities
  • Territory Management & Planning
  • Manage route lists, call planning, and appointment scheduling.
  • Conduct regular practice visits (with set weekly call targets) to educate and detail our product, highlighting patient benefits, scientific backing and reseller opportunities.
  • Submit and execute weekly/monthly territory plans, maintain an up-to-date customer database and provide timely reports on activities, engagement and market insights.
  • Customer Relationship Management & Business Development
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with Allied Health Professionals.
  • Drive brand awareness, education and uptake in the Gauteng region through consistent call activity.
  • Provide samples, medical information and training material where relevant.
  • Identify, onboard and support new resellers with product knowledge and engagement initiatives.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and provide qualitative insights from the field to guide national expansion.
Education, Events & Marketing Support
Ensure updated product knowledge by attending product training and self-study.
Assist in organising and facilitating events, training sessions and conferences (including CPD where relevant) to build awareness and relationships.
Support identified marketing and sales initiatives to enhance brand visibility and growth.

Administration & Expense Management
Accurately track and report on daily/weekly calls, practitioner feedback, reseller sign-ups and conversions.
Manage business expenses and budgets in line with company policy.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Territory Management:
Minimum number of calls/visits per week, achievement of territory coverage targets.
Practitioner Engagement:
Growth in follow-ups, samples requested, reseller enquiries and qualitative feedback.
Business Development:
Number of practitioners onboarded as resellers and sales growth in the allocated region.
Customer Satisfaction:
Practitioner satisfaction and brand advocacy (as measured through feedback or surveys).
Reporting & Administration:
Accurate and timely submission of activity reports, customer database updates, and market insights.
Expense Management:
Effective and compliant use of allocated business expenses and budgets.
Demonstrates professional conduct, compliance with industry regulations, and effective relationship-building with healthcare professionals
