Business Development Manager; Solar & Renewable Energy

Introduction

A leading concern in the engineering sector is looking for an experienced and commercially driven Business Development Manager (BDM) to identify, develop and secure new business opportunities within the solar, renewable energy, electrical infrastructure and mining sectors.

This is a senior business development role ideally suited to a results-driven sales professional with proven experience in the solar industry or a strong track record of selling products, services or technical solutions into the solar market.

• Develop and execute a strategic business development and sales strategy focused on the solar, renewable energy, electrical infrastructure and mining markets.
• Identify and pursue new solar and renewable energy projects, business opportunities and key accounts.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with solar EPCs, developers, IPPs, electrical contractors, mining companies, consultants, engineering firms and other industry stakeholders.
• Identify upcoming solar PV, BESS, renewable energy and electrical infrastructure projects and position the company for potential involvement.
• Develop and maintain a strong sales pipeline from initial lead generation through to contract award.
• Generate new business and convert opportunities into profitable contracts.
• Develop strategic relationships with EPCs, developers, contractors, consultants and end users within the renewable energy and electrical sectors.

• Bachelor’s degree or relevant tertiary qualification in Engineering, Business Management, Sales, Marketing or a related field.
• 5+ years’ proven business development, sales or technical sales experience.
• Working experience within the solar / renewable energy industry.
• Strong understanding of the South African solar, renewable energy, electrical, mining and infrastructure markets.

R750 000 CTC - R1.1 million CTC (Negotiable depending on experience)
