Geophysicist

Our client is seeking a skilled Geophysicist to join their exploration and production team based in Centurion . This role is integral to identifying and evaluating potential hydrocarbon reserves through the interpretation of seismic, magnetic, and gravity data. You will work closely with geologists and reservoir engineers to build subsurface models and provide critical insights for exploration strategies within the Oil & Gas sector .

• Process and interpret 2D and 3D seismic data to identify geological structures and potential hydrocarbon traps.
• Integrate geophysical data with well logs, geological maps, and other subsurface information.
• Perform quantitative seismic interpretation and attribute analysis.
• Conduct feasibility studies for new exploration ventures based on geophysical data.
• Prepare detailed reports and presentations for management and technical teams.
• Stay current with the latest advancements in geophysical acquisition, processing, and interpretation techniques.

• Master's degree or PhD in Geophysics, Geology, or a related Earth Science discipline.
• 5-7 years of experience in geophysical interpretation, preferably within the Oil & Gas industry .
• Proficiency with industry-standard geophysical software (e.g., Petrel, Kingdom Suite).
• Strong understanding of seismic processing workflows and data quality assessment.
• Experience with AVO analysis and seismic inversion techniques.
• Excellent analytical skills and the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
