Reservoir Geologist

Our client is seeking a skilled and analytical Reservoir Geologist to join their established team in Centurion . This role is integral to understanding and defining subsurface geological formations crucial for oil and gas exploration and production. You will utilize advanced geological and geophysical techniques to interpret data, build static models, and provide essential insights for reservoir development and management strategies.

Working closely with petroleum engineers and geophysicists, you will play a key role in identifying and evaluating potential hydrocarbon reserves in a collaborative, office-based environment.

• Interpret geological and geophysical data (seismic, well logs, core data) to delineate reservoir properties and boundaries.
• Develop detailed 3D geological models of subsurface reservoirs.
• Collaborate with reservoir engineers to integrate geological models with dynamic reservoir simulations.
• Identify and assess potential drilling targets and optimize well placement strategies.
• Conduct field studies and site visits as required for project support.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations for management and project teams.

• Master's degree or PhD in Geology, Geophysics, or a related earth science discipline.
• 5-8 years of experience in reservoir characterization and geological modeling within the oil and gas industry.
• Proficiency with geological modeling software (e.g., Petrel, Geo Modeller).
• Strong understanding of sedimentology, stratigraphy, and structural geology relevant to hydrocarbon systems.
• Excellent data analysis and interpretation skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team on-site.
