Ground Equipment; GSE) Technician

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and reliable Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Technician to ensure the optimal functioning of all ground equipment at their Centurion facility. You will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of a wide range of vehicles and machinery essential for aircraft ground operations. This role is crucial for maintaining operational efficiency and safety within the airport environment.

The ideal candidate possesses strong mechanical aptitude, electrical knowledge, and a commitment to high-quality workmanship in a demanding, fast-paced setting.

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on various GSE, including tugs, belt loaders, and pushback tractors.
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues effectively and efficiently.
• Conduct safety inspections on all GSE to ensure compliance with operational and regulatory standards.
• Maintain accurate service records, parts inventory, and repair histories for all equipment.
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and provide on-the-spot repairs to minimize downtime.
• Operate GSE safely and competently as required for testing and operational tasks.

• Proven experience as a GSE Technician or in a similar mechanical/automotive repair role.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems common in heavy equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic data.
• Experience with diagnostic tools and electronic troubleshooting equipment.
• A valid driver's license and a commitment to workplace safety are essential.
• Technical certification in diesel mechanics or heavy equipment repair is advantageous.
