Field Service Technician - Telecoms

About the Role

Our client is looking for a dedicated and technically proficient Field Service Technician to join their team based in Centurion. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications equipment at customer sites and company facilities. You will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our client's network services through hands-on technical support and timely issue resolution.

This position requires a motivated individual who is comfortable working independently in the field and possesses strong diagnostic skills to address diverse technical challenges.

• Install, configure, and commission telecommunications equipment, including routers, modems, and access points.
• Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and upgrades on network infrastructure components.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and software issues, resolving faults efficiently to minimize downtime.
• Provide on-site technical support to customers, ensuring satisfaction with services rendered.
• Maintain accurate records of all service calls, repairs, and installations using the company's reporting system.
• Adhere to all safety regulations and company procedures while performing duties in the field.

• Technical qualification or certification in Electronics, Telecommunications, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Field Service Technician or in a similar technical role within the telecom industry.
• Strong understanding of telecommunications systems, networking principles, and related technologies.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and test equipment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record are essential for this role.
