Telecom Field Technician

Our client is seeking a dedicated Telecom Field Technician to join their operations team based in Centurion . In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunication equipment and infrastructure at customer sites and various field locations across Gauteng . This position requires a practical approach to problem-solving and a commitment to delivering high-quality service.

You will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliable operation of our clients' networks and customer connections, directly impacting customer satisfaction and service delivery in the region.

• Install, configure, and test telecommunication systems, including fiber optics, copper lines, and wireless equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and preventative repairs on network infrastructure.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues, providing effective solutions in a timely manner.
• Respond to service calls and emergency repair requests from customers and internal teams.
• Ensure all work is completed safely, adhering to company policies and industry standards.
• Maintain accurate records of all service calls, installations, and maintenance activities using company systems.

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in telecommunications or electronics is a plus.
• Proven experience as a field technician or in a similar hands-on telecom role.
• Solid understanding of telecommunications principles, cabling standards, and diagnostic tools.
• Ability to work independently and manage a daily schedule effectively.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record are essential.
• Physical ability to lift heavy equipment and work in various environmental conditions.
