Telecommunications Installation Specialist

Our client is seeking a skilled Telecommunications Installation Specialist to join their hybrid team serving the Centurion area and surrounding regions. This role involves the installation, configuration, and maintenance of telecommunications infrastructure, including network cabling, equipment, and systems. While much of the planning and support can be handled remotely, regular on-site visits will be required to perform installations, site surveys, and critical repairs.

The ideal candidate is adept at managing their time between remote tasks and on-site responsibilities, ensuring high-quality service delivery and client satisfaction.

• Install, configure, and test telecommunications equipment, including routers, switches, and servers.
• Perform structured cabling installations, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project specifications.
• Conduct site surveys to assess installation requirements and identify potential challenges.
• Troubleshoot and repair telecommunications systems, diagnosing and resolving network issues efficiently.
• Provide technical support and guidance to clients, both remotely and on-site.
• Maintain detailed documentation of all installations, configurations, and maintenance performed.

• Proven experience as a Telecommunications Installation Specialist or similar technical role.
• Strong understanding of network protocols, cabling standards (e.g., Cat5e, Cat6, Fiber Optic), and telecommunications hardware.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools for network testing and troubleshooting.
• Ability to work independently and manage on-site visits and remote tasks effectively.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a customer-focused approach.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to client sites as required.
