Field Service Technician - Automotive Diagnostics

You will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing sophisticated diagnostic equipment at automotive workshops and dealerships.

This role requires extensive travel within the specified region, with occasional visits to head office for training and team meetings. • Install, configure, and commission new diagnostic equipment at customer sites.
• Perform routine maintenance and calibration checks on existing systems.
• Diagnose and repair hardware and software issues on complex diagnostic tools.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to customers both on-site and remotely.
• Conduct training sessions for client technicians on the proper use of equipment.
• Maintain detailed service reports, documenting all work performed and parts used.
• Manage inventory of spare parts and tools, ensuring adequate stock levels.
• Liaise with the engineering and support teams to resolve complex technical issues.
• Adhere to all company safety protocols and environmental guidelines.
• Proactively identify opportunities for service upgrades or additional equipment sales.

• A technical qualification in Automotive Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a field service or technical support role, preferably within the automotive industry.
• Proven expertise in diagnosing and repairing complex electronic and mechanical systems.
• Strong understanding of automotive diagnostics and repair processes.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic software and tools.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information clearly.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle for travel within the Centurion region.
• Ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule, including occasional overnight stays.
