Indoor & Outdoor ClimateWork takes place in both indoor and outdoor environments featuring a limited noise level. The climate may vary and is typical of vineyard and winery settings.
The RoleThis position reports to the Sr. Manager of Winemaking. It is a seasonal, onsite role (Shift
1) with a pay range of $18.00–$25.00 per hour. The internship is non‑exempt and requires flexible scheduling, including nights, weekends, and holidays during the harvest season.
The Winemaking Intern supports the winemaking team through hands‑on participation in all stages of wine production, including harvest activities, wine processing, and quality control. The internship provides practical, educational experience for students or recent graduates pursuing a career in enology or viticulture.
Essential Duties- Participate in wine tasting at all stages of the winemaking process.
- Conduct winemaking trials, including sample acquisition, processing, tasting, and record keeping.
- Monitor fermentation health and assist with data collection during the harvest.
- Lead laboratory organization and cleanliness during peak production periods.
- Assist winemakers with writing work orders for all production‑related tasks from harvest to bottling.
- Collaborate with winemakers on blends to meet bottling requirements on time by supporting blend trials and bottling preparation tasks.
- Complete special projects or research assignments as assigned.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of the winemaking process and procedures.
- Participate in training sessions and shadow experienced winemakers.
- Comply with winery SOPs, OSHA guidelines, and safety protocols.
- Currently enrolled in university or have a degree in enology, chemistry, or related science fields.
- Must possess strong communication, problem‑solving, and presentation skills.
- Ability to conduct and manage experiments related to wine quality.
- Enrollment in a university program or completion of a degree in enology, chemistry, or another science field.

- Familiarity with basic winery equipment and lab procedures.
- Familiarity with sensory evaluation techniques.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work at heights up to 50 feet repeatedly.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and work in wet, hot, cold, or dusty conditions.
- Comfortable working around heavy machinery, chemicals, and confined spaces.
- Ability to ascend and descend ramps, steps, ladders, and stairs using three‑point contact.
- Must be able to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays during the harvest season.

- Shift 1: 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Overtime and additional workdays may be required during the harvest season based on business needs.
