Position Summary

Ecology Auto Parts, Inc. is looking to fill the role of a Claims Intake Specialist to provide essential administrative support to our safety department. This role will involve processing claims, performing follow-up calls, and interacting with both department personnel and insurance adjusters. Additional responsibilities include answering telephones, bookkeeping, filing, and providing general administrative support to the safety department. The successful candidate will bring strong administrative skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

This is a crucial position that will interact with various levels of the organization, including senior management. Demonstrated organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently are essential for the Claims Intake Specialist.

Responsibilities
  • Provide support to the Claims Manager and perform other office tasks.
  • Customer service, problem-solving, communication, data entry, attention to detail, research, organizational skills, and time management.
  • Set up and enter new claims into the claims management system.
  • Input and review notes/diaries in claims management system as instructed.
  • Process payments.
  • Process mail; handle filing, faxing, and photocopying.
  • Review, prepare, create, and/or send letters, reports, and forms.
  • Answer and initiate telephone calls and provide customer service as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Minimum six (6) months of clerical/customer service experience or equivalent combination of education and experience REQUIRED
  • Strong customer service skills REQUIRED
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills REQUIRED
  • Organizational skills REQUIRED
  • Attention to detail REQUIRED
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite REQUIRED
  • Strong Excel/database experience REQUIRED
  • High School Diploma or equivalent REQUIRED
  • MS Access database experience PREFERRED
  • Experience processing insurance claims PREFERRED
  • Transportation/Trucking industry experience PREFERRED
  • Bilingual (Spanish) PREFERRED
Physical Demands/Environmental Factors
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear
  • Occasionally required to stand and walk
  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
  • Some travel required
Compensation

The Claims Intake Specialist position offers an appealing compensation package, with a competitive hourly pay range of $18.00 to $23.00. In addition to the financial components, we provide a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401k plan with employer matching, generous paid time off, and life insurance coverage.
