Position Type: Full-Time (Approx. 35 hours/week)
Compensation: $45–$55 per hour (based on experience)

Amergis Staffing is seeking a dedicated Mild/Moderate Special Education Teacher to support students within ABC Unified School District in Cerritos, CA
. This full-time role provides specialized academic instruction, case management, and classroom support to students with disabilities in accordance with their IEPs. The ideal educator is collaborative, student-centered, and committed to fostering an inclusive learning environment.

• Provide Specialized Academic Instruction (SAI) for students with mild to moderate disabilities in resource, push-in, or co-teaching settings.
• Adapt curriculum, lessons, and instructional strategies to meet IEP goals.
• Implement evidence-based instructional practices and track student progress.
• Support students’ academic, behavioral, and social-emotional development.

• Develop, update, and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Conduct IEP meetings with families, service providers, and district staff.
• Maintain timely documentation, progress reports, and compliance with IDEA requirements.

• Partner with general education teachers to ensure proper accommodations and modifications.
• Coordinate with related service providers (SLP, OT, PT, school psychologists, etc.).
• Communicate regularly with families, administrators, and Amergis Staffing as required.

• Utilize Positive Behavioral Interventions & Supports (PBIS) and other proactive strategies.
• Maintain a supportive, structured classroom that encourages student independence and engagement.
• Address behavior and learning challenges through individualized interventions.

• Valid California Education Specialist Credential – Mild/Moderate Support Needs

• Ability to pass required background checks and onboarding through Amergis Staffing.

• Experience in K–12 special education settings.
• Knowledge of IEP systems such as SEIS.
• Proficiency in differentiated instruction and UDL principles.

• Approximately 35 hours per week

• Hours aligned to the assigned school site within ABC Unified School District.

• $45–$55 per hour
