CMM Programmer & Operator (PC-DMIS)
We are seeking a highly skilled CMM Programmer and Operator with strong PC-DMIS experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and executing Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) programs to support precision inspection of manufactured components. This role ensures parts meet engineering specifications, customer requirements, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities CMM Programming & Operation- Develop, edit, and troubleshoot CMM programs using PC-DMIS software.
- Perform first article, in‑process, and final inspections using CMM equipment.
- Interpret complex GD&T requirements and incorporate them accurately into measurement routines.
- Validate part conformance through detailed measurement reports and documentation.
- Maintain and organize CMM programs for traceability and standardization.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and 3D CAD models.
- Conduct precision measurements using various metrology tools (including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, indicators).
- Prepare clear, accurate inspection reports and communicate results to engineers, machinists, and production teams.
- Support root cause analysis and corrective action activities for nonconforming parts.
- Perform daily/weekly maintenance and calibration checks on CMM equipment.
- Assist with continuous improvement initiatives to enhance inspection efficiency and accuracy.
- Troubleshoot equipment or software issues and coordinate service when necessary.
- 2+ years of hands‑on CMM programming and operation experience.
- Proficiency with PC-DMIS (offline and/or online programming).
- Strong understanding of GD&T (ASME Y14.5).
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and CAD models.
- Experience in a precision manufacturing or machining environment.
- Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail.
- Experience with additional metrology software or tools (e.g., Poly Works, Zeiss Calypso, Vision systems).
- Familiarity with aerospace, automotive, or medical device quality standards (ISO 9001, AS9100, ISO 13485).
- Background in CNC machining or engineering.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Strong problem‑solving ability in a fast‑paced environment.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross‑functional teams.
- Organized, reliable, and quality‑driven mindset.
- Full‑time, on‑site position.
- May involve standing, bending, or lifting small components during inspections.
- Requires working closely with Quality, Engineering, and Production teams.
