This job follows policies, procedures and HACCP principles related to the delivery of food services to the patient. Delivers and retrieves trays, menus, and nourishment; maintains par level food supplies; obtains food preferences to ensure patient satisfaction; reviews and maintains patient information in the computer; maintains reports, logs and performance improvement activities daily; checks menus, diet and tube feeding orders; maintains sanitation and safety principles in the work area;
and participates in education programs.

Education- High School diploma or equivalent
Skills and Abilities
(KSAs)
- Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of information.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally.
- Must be proficient with Windows-style applications, various software packages specific to role and keyboard.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Basic math and reading skills.
- Excellent organizational skills to meet frequent time deadlines.
- No experience required.
- Preferred: 6 months experience in food service.
- Provides meal service.
- Uses computer application to verify, process, and update orders.
- Documents nutrition services.
- Receives and stores food.
- Cleans and sanitizes.
- Other related duties as required.
Remains knowledgeable on current federal, state and local laws, accreditation standards or regulatory agency requirements that apply to the assigned area of responsibility and ensures compliance with all such laws, regulations and standards. Other duties may be added, or this description amended at any time.

Physical and Environmental DemandsMedium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical demands are in excess of sedentary work. Must be able to sit for prolonged periods, travel throughout and between facilities, and work a flexible schedule. Mechanical lifting devices or team lifts should be utilized.
Normal routine involves no exposure to blood, body fluid or tissue, but exposure or potential for exposure may occur. The incumbent may work with patients who have known or suspected communicable diseases and may enter isolation rooms. The incumbent has an occupational risk for exposure to all communicable diseases.
